Sam Ka Tsuen sits on the Kowloon shore of Lei Yue Mun, in Kwun Tong District, with its ferry pier on Shung Shun Street in Yau Tong. Facing it from Hong Kong Island's Eastern District is Sai Wan Ho Ferry Pier on Tai Hong Street. Coral Sea Ferry links the two in about 10 minutes, for HK$9 a head whatever the day.
The first boat leaves Sam Ka Tsuen at 07:00 and the first from Sai Wan Ho at 07:12. Until 09:00 each side has a departure every 24 minutes. From then on Sam Ka Tsuen sends a boat at the hour and the half hour and Sai Wan Ho at quarter past and quarter to, until the last pair at 22:30 and 22:45.
These times appear identically in the Transport Department's list and on Coral Sea's website, which is written in Chinese even on its English address.
HK$9 at any hour
There is one fare for the whole day and the whole week: HK$9 for an adult single. The concession of HK$4.50 is for children, anyone 65 or older and disabled passengers. The Transport Department defines the child fare as under 12 years old or 90 cm tall or above, and neither it nor Coral Sea says whether smaller children travel free, so ask the crew before boarding with an infant.
Coral Sea's fare notes say that JoyYou Card holders and eligible disabled passengers using their Octopus can travel under the Government's $2 concession, and that staff may ask anyone paying a concession fare for proof of identity.
| Adult | HK$9 |
| Child, passenger 65+, passenger with disabilities | HK$4.50 |

What changed in July, and the boats that share these piers
Until July 2026 some weekend and holiday departures from Sai Wan Ho also called at a landing at Lei Yue Mun. The Transport Department ended that routing from 6 July, and Coral Sea announced the closure of its Lei Yue Mun new pier service from 10 July because of low passenger numbers and high running costs, adding that the Sai Wan Ho – Sam Ka Tsuen crossing would carry on unchanged.
Coral Sea runs two other services from these piers: a crossing from Sai Wan Ho to Kwun Tong, and a weekend and holiday ferry from Sam Ka Tsuen to Tung Lung Island with its own return-only ticket. Neither is covered by the fares or times on this page.
