Privacy notice

This notice covers hkg.lauttainfo.com, both the English pages and the Chinese pages under /zh/. The data user responsible for them is Alberto R., who works from Barcelona, Spain; contact [email protected], or write to Travessera de Gràcia 20, 08024. The guide needs nothing from its readers: there is no sign-in, no subscription, no form to fill in and no place to leave comments, so no names, HKID numbers, phone numbers or payment data are collected.

For readers in Hong Kong, the site follows the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) and its six Data Protection Principles, which cover why data is collected, its accuracy and retention, how it is used, its security, openness about practices, and your right of access and correction. Since the publisher is in Spain, the EU General Data Protection Regulation applies to the same processing.

The only third-party service that may store something in your browser is Google AdSense. Google uses cookies and similar technologies to show adverts, limit repetition and measure results, and personalises them only with your permission. You can say no in the consent prompt, change that later in your browser, and switch off personalised adverts at adssettings.google.com. If traffic statistics are ever introduced, they will be produced by a self-hosted copy of Umami that records totals and places no cookie.

Like any website, the server and Cloudflare, which delivers the pages, keep a brief log of requests: the IP address, browser, time and URL. The log serves security and the running of the service, is erased when it is no longer needed for that, and is not used to identify, profile or contact visitors.

You may make a data access request or a data correction request, and under the GDPR you may also ask for erasure, restriction, objection or a portable copy. Email [email protected]; requests are answered within 40 days, the period set by the Ordinance. Google and Cloudflare may transfer data outside Hong Kong and the EU under the safeguards they publish.

Complaints can be made to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong (pcpd.org.hk), or to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es). Revisions to this notice will be posted here.
